Hello Hip Hop Heads and Horror Fans,
I’ve been anticipating this film since it was announced last year and due to the mass shootings it was postponed until 2020. Doesn’t make sense since there are more violent films that released year, but you know the government loves targeting horror films. Don’t get me started on the Horror hashtag on Instagram! Anyway I had seen the trailer and from what I understood it was a group of people who were being hunted by the Elite! It reminded me of the 1990s films starring Ice-T, “Surviving the Game” which was the same premise except they were hunting just one person. I always thought that concept is very chilling, but interesting. I knew I had to watch it once it released in theaters.
I went to go see the film opening weekend and I had a fun time watching it. Kept me at the edge of my seat , I was glued to the screen from beginning to end. I loved Betty Gilpin as the main character she killed her performance literally! She was a total badass and you were rooting for her the whole time. The film has a lot of satire and pokes fun at all political parties and peoples beliefs and stereotypes. It is a film that perfectly describes the era we are living in. 10 years from now someone can watch this film and know the political climate we were living in, or at least get a glimpse. I definitely recommend this film it has dark sense of humor, action and some gore for the horror fans!
