Hello Hip Hop Heads and Horror Fans,
Today I will be reviewing Devvlov’s album, “Saxual Eruption”. This is not necessarily a rap album, but I had to review it as a music fan in general. Devv is a dope musician that hails from Oceanside, CA. If you’ve seen him perform it is an otherworldly experience! Not only does he play the keyboard, he has a very soulful voice! This project is more of an instrumental jazzy masterpiece. If I’m not mistaken he collaborated with other musicians Curtis Brooks on the Saxaphone and Kevin Ryan contributed to the music on the tracks.
The album consists of 26 tracks with a running time of 34 minutes. All the tracks are amazingly beautiful, but the stand out tracks for me are: Smoothlov, Steam Creme, Breasy, Maytrix, Agua Melones, Bluumdale and Gud Gud. If you are a fan of the saxaphone or smooth jazz this is an amazing body of work that you will enjoy vibin to! From top to finish the melodies are captivating and soothing! I am a huge Terrace Martin fan and this reminded me of him sonically mixed with some Robert Glasper. Definitely check out this mixtape/album you won’t regret it! Support local talent!
