Hello Hip Hop Heads and Horror Fans,
Today I will be reviewing 60 East’s latest EP, The Freeway Series Vol. 3. 60 East is a dope emcee, founder of THOP fest that takes place twice a year in Ontario, CA. He is doing a lot for the Hip Hop culture and keeping it alive and well in his city! He just dropped this EP at the beginning of the year. The production on this project was done by the talented Curtiss King. The EP consists of 6 tracks with a running time of 16 minutes. It is a perfect soundtrack to listen to on your way to and from work or just to go cruise to!
The first track after the intro, “Tuesday” has a very soulful oldies vibe that I loved! 60 East talks about all his doubters and his struggles trying to make it in the music biz . He rap how all the lessons he learned got him to the top! Also keeping the balance of being a good father and following his dream. Very inspirational track. Another track is, “The Blues” his speaks about the music industry and how it’s not all unicorns and rainbows like they make it out to be. Some artists unable to handle the pressure and give up or commit suicide. Realest track I’ve heard in a minute! My favorite track tho has to be, “Sleep Talk” featuring A-F-R-O who is an amazing emcee. 60 East goes in with his braggadocio bars! Favorite bar: “The head honcho/Pulling up to your condo/It’s a murder taking place like OJ in the Bronco!” All the tracks are dope on this project from top to bottom. Go check it out! Support dope Hip Hop!
