Hello Hip Hop Heads and Horror Fans,

Today I am reviewing the short film presented by CryptTV, “Mistress of Bones”, Directed by the talented Gigi Saul Guerrero aka La Muñeca Del Terror. I had the pleasure of meeting her last year at the screening of her episode from the Into The Dark series, which was an amazing episode! She did one hell of a job with this short as well! This short reminded me of a mix of Evil Dead and From Dusk Till Dawn mythology. It was reminiscent of Evil Dead because of the ancient evil that is awoken. It also had Aztec mythology interwoven with Dia De Los Muertos lore that reminded me of From Dusk Till Dawn series.

Even though it is a short film it definitely left me wanting more! I could see a very dope universe being born from this. Left a lot of unanswered questions and mystery on who the Mistress of Bones is. The actress Nicole Muñoz who plays Mistress of Bones also starred in Pyewacket. It was a very dope movie that I enjoyed. She killed her role in that film, she is a great actress. Only thing I thought would have been cool is if the heroine was played by a Mexican actress to give it more authenticity. Other than that I loved this short!

Thank you for reading my short film review. Hope you all enjoyed it! Until next time horror fiends and hip hop heads! While you’re at it follow my blog on social media @7octoberz on Instagram and Facebook! Also follow me on YouTube and IGtv to watch my podcast Nightmare on Sedgwick Avenue.
