Hello Hip Hop Heads and Horror Fans,

In honor of Throwback Thursday I will be reviewing Jamal Gasol’s EP, “It’s A Dirty Game“. This project was released last year and features Eto. I came across Jamal Gasol’s music by coincidence. I had the opportunity to see him perform live at Til Two a bar/venue in San Diego a few weekends ago. He was one of the openers for Eto’s show. I was impressed by his stage presence and dope bars!

In between intermission I saw him and his team were selling CD’s. I decided to buy this project and he was kind enough to sign my copy. We didn’t conversate for long, but I introduced myself and asked him if he was from NY, he proudly stated he was from Niagara Falls, NY! For the short time that we exchanged words I got a positive vibe! He takes his craft seriously he even shot a video in San Diego while on tour! Check it out, it’s called, “Adult Swim (Prod. Won87).” Now that is what you call dedication!

This project is filled with just pure street lyrical rap! He is accompanied by another dope rapper Eto! They both go in bar for bar! I loved the production on this album! The producers are Eto himself and mainly Vto. The track “It’s A Dirty Game” gave me Omen (horror movie) vibes to it! It’s a spooky beat with lyrical heat!

Another track that I loved is, “Statistic” very dope track about not becoming another statistic and just striving to make it out! The beat on this track is amazing! The piano sounds like some dark classical song. Eto went crazy on this beat!

If you are looking for the grimey or gritty rap look no further Jamal Gasol is bringing that sound to your eardrums! Buffalo is not playing they are the new hub that is bringing dope lyrical talent to the forefront! Check out this project if you love real rap! Jamal Gasol is a lyricist to watch out for. He has my full attention and support! Go check out his website for merch and music:
