Hello Hip Hop Heads and Horror Fans,
Today I will be reviewing Russ’s album, “Shake the Snow Globe”. This is his third studio album following up his last release Zoo. In this album he seems more acclimated to his fame and more happy than his last. In this album Russ has evolved. He has production from different producers which in the past he normally produced all his beats and minimal features. This projects he has dope features. He has Benny the Butcher which I wouldn’t normally think he would do this type of music. Then you get Rick Ross and Devin the Dude. The album consists of 14 tracks with a running time of 43 minutes. He raps about his life in the rap game and how he has accomplished a lot. He raps what he lives which is rare for rappers these days.
You still get the normal Russ braggadocio and the typical melodic R&B tracks. Definitely his sounds is a bit different. It is most likely because he had different producers this time around. At first it took awhile for the project to grow on me, but now I love it! My favorite tracks are Nighttime, All To You, Guess What, Patience and I Thought You Got Me. I really loved that Russ showed another side to Benny he went in on the track I Thought You Got Me about betrayal by someone you love. He also has a track dedicated his mom which is dope! Then the bonus tracks are the singles Best On Earth ft. Bia and Civil War. Which of course are bangers! Definitely recommend checking out this project.
