Hello Hip Hop Heads and Horror Fans,

Today I will be reviewing the movie, “Wrong Turn”, which is a reboot to the 2003 version under the same name. I am actually a fan of the original. I remember going to see it in theaters back in the day! The sequels were horrible in my opinion. They were a bit dumb mixed with dark sense of humor! The original film had Eliza Dushku as the main protagonist which I loved and she has always been a badass in my eyes. When I heard this reboot was going to happen I was a bit skeptical, but I was actually pleasantly surprised of how dope it was! The final girl or main character is played by Charlotte Vega and she definitely stole the show! This was definitely a reboot since it had no connection whatsoever to the original film. There are no hillbillies, but the gore and action is still there! I believe this film could have been a great stand alone film and be titled “The Foundation”. I don’t know if they did a “reboot” with the same name to try to get viewers, but this movie definitely didn’t need that!

This movie follows a group of friends who are hiking the Appalachian Trail and end up being ambushed by a group of people who has lived in the woods for years! Let’s just say this group called, “The Foundation” is not civilized and are dangerous. Charlotte’s character, Jen is seen as an outspoken but caring person. Jen is the perfect example of someone who goes through trauma and uses that trauma to survive until the end! We see the evolution of a survivor that uses trauma as a driving force to not give up and fight until the bloody end! I really enjoyed this film! I honestly was ready for the worst lol, but this movie proved me wrong. I always love when I find a new horror film that turns out to be good (pun intended) ! The ending almost had me thinking it was going to end in a different direction and then it did a complete 180! Sometimes films are ruined by the ending, this is an exception. The ending was one of my favorite parts of this film! I definitely recommend giving this movie a watch.

Thank you for reading my movie review. Hope you all enjoyed it! Until next time horror fiends and hip hop heads! While you’re at it follow my blog on social media @7octoberz on Instagram and Facebook! Also follow me on YouTube and IGtv to watch my podcast Nightmare on Sedgwick Avenue.
